Payment & Shipping

Successful bidders are invoiced within 24 hours of the sale. Payment is due within 5 days. Shipping is available worldwide through our in-house team or your preferred carrier.

Buyer's Premium

25% on the hammer price

In addition to the hammer price, a buyer's premium of 25% is applied to the first USD 1,000,000 and 20% on amounts above. This fee covers the auction services provided by Alden's Auction.

Sales Tax

California 7.75%

California sales tax is collected on lots picked up locally and shipped within California. Lots shipped to other US states or internationally may be exempt — please refer to your invoice or contact us for guidance.

What happens next

    Hammer falls. Your bid is recorded by the auctioneer.

    Invoice Sent

    An itemized invoice with hammer price, buyer's premium, sales tax, and shipping options is emailed to you.

  3. 3Within 5 Days

    Payment Due

    Settle in full via your preferred method. Late payment may incur a 1.5% monthly interest charge.

  4. 4After Payment

    Shipping or Pick-Up

    Lots are shipped within 7–10 business days, or available for pick-up by appointment.

No fee. Best for bidders located in the United States with a participating bank.

Wire Transfer

International settlements welcome. Bank instructions are provided on the invoice.

Bank / Cashier's Check

Payable to Alden's Auction Auction Inc. Lots are released after the check has cleared.

Credit Card

Visa, MasterCard, and American Express accepted up to USD 10,000 per lot. A 3% surcharge applies.

Wire transfer details (provided on invoice)

Beneficiary: Alden's Auction Auction Inc. · Bank: Bank of America · Routing / SWIFT and account number are listed on each invoice. Please reference your invoice number on the wire memo.

Third-Party Shipping

We work with FedEx, UPS, and specialized fine-art carriers. Quotes are provided on request.

Local Pick-Up

Collect your lots in person at our Fountain Valley, CA gallery during business hours by appointment.

Pick-up appointments

Local pick-up is available Monday – Friday, 10AM – 5PM PST, strictly by appointment at our Fountain Valley, CA gallery. Please email info@aldensauction.com at least 48 hours in advance.

International shipping notes

Buyers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or brokerage fees levied by the destination country. Certain materials (ivory, tortoiseshell, certain woods, etc.) may be subject to CITES restrictions and cannot be shipped across international borders. Please consult our specialists prior to bidding if you are unsure.
